FAQs
Q. Will Volite be painful? A. Numbing cream will be applied for 30mins before treatment which will reduce tenderness during the treatment. Clients describe a mild stinging and tightness. Numbing solution lidocaine is integrated in the Volite injection process so the procedure is more comfortable for you. Post-treatment inflammation may occur, including mild bruising and swelling, so we advise to plan your appointment with sufficient time around any important date or event.
Q. Am I a suitable candidate for Profhilo? A. Volite is an advanced anti-ageing hydration treatment that effectively boosts moisture levels beneath the skin's surface and stimulates the natural synthesis of collagen and elastin. This remarkable treatment is suitable for individuals seeking enhanced hydration, increased collagen, and improved elastin levels. Although no upper age limit, the ideal candidates for Volite are typically aged between 30 and 65, who desire a more youthful appearance and wish to improve the overall condition of their skin. By harnessing the power of Volite, clients can achieve a revitalised and rejuvenated complexion. For clients with deep folds in the skin, alternative treatments may be better suited and this will be discussed during your consultation.
Q. How is Volite different from traditional dermal filler and other skin boosters? A. Volite is injectable skin boosters with a unique formulation that stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to improvements in skin tone, texture, and elasticity. The outcome is a more youthful, well-hydrated, and radiant complexion. Skin boosters distinguish themselves from dermal fillers in their composition and mode of action. Dermal fillers typically add volume whilst skin boosters are primarily a hydrating treatment dispersed across the skin. Unlike dermal fillers that target specific lines or folds, skin boosters enhance entire areas. While both contain hyaluronic acid, skin boosters differ in viscosity from dermal fillers. In contrast to the skin booster Profhilo which has more of a honey-like substance, Volite can be described more as a water-like consistency and is considered the more hydrating product of the two. It is delicately injected in tiny quantities across the face, where it spreads beneath the skin's surface. This characteristic of Volite minimises the risk of creating lumps or bumps. Conveniently, Volite only requires one treatment session, in comparison to other popular skin boosters and unlike Profhilo, it can be used around the eye area and forehead. It can also be injected into lip to smooth out the lines on the lip and hydrate the lip - without necessarily making the lips bigger. While Volite can be conducted as a stand-alone treatment resulting in healthier-looking skin, we suggest a combination of Volite, Profhilo and anti-wrinkle injections to achieve the optimal outcome for skin remodelling and rejuvenation.
Q. When will I see results from Volite? A. Unlike many other skin boosters on the market, your skin will look more nourished in the days after treatment with the increased hydration levels continuing to improve the glow of the skin over the following weeks with softening of fine lines and wrinkles. Clients can achieve remarkable results improving their complexion with a subtle, natural-looking radiance that typically last between 6-9 months. This may vary according to client age, skin condition and lifestyle factors. We recommend a client review at 6-9 months post treatment to maintain treatment results.
Q. What are the possible risks and side effects of Volite? A. Like any cosmetic procedure, Volite can have some side effects, though they are usually mild and very short term, when administered by qualified professionals. You will feel a stinging sensation on injection, and if you are concerned about the pain, we advise that as well as having the numbing cream you take two paracetamol tablets before your appointment providing you have no contraindications. Immediately after, there will be small lumps on the face where the product has been injected; they will look like bee-stings and go down after a couple of hours but in some cases can persist for up to 24 – 48 hours. At Number 109 Wellness Clinic, your safety is our top priority and you can be confident our expert team will minimise the risks and side effects, providing you with a worry-free experience as well as beautiful skin.
Q. What aftercare advice is there? A. Volite is minimally invasive. There is no downtime necessary, and most patients can return to their usual routine immediately after treatment. However, patients should avoid wearing makeup, exposure to extreme temperatures, swimming, exercise, and touching the site of injection for 24 hours post-treatment. Patients may experience lumps, redness, bruising and tenderness at the injection site, but this should subside within a day.
